Conditional Admission to Rutgers University-Camden

Rutgers-Camden offers conditional admission to academically qualified undergraduate and graduate applicants. Applicants who do not meet the University's English proficiency requirements may apply for conditional admission. Conditionally admitted students may satisfy their English proficiency requirements by either successfully completing one of our pre-approved English language programs or achieving the requisite scores on the TOEFL or IELTS exam. English language and entrance examinations (if required*) must be fulfilled in order for a student to matriculate at Rutgers-Camden.

Rutgers-Camden accepts the following as proof of English proficiency from its international applicants:

How to apply for conditional admission:
1) Apply online ($65 application fee)

2) Submit the required credentials
For undergraduate admissions:

  • Academic records – high school transcript and college transcripts in original language and professional translation
  • Completed Rutgers International Student Financial Statement and current original bank or scholarship letter

For graduate admissions:

  • Academic records – college transcript(s) in original language and professional translation
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Personal statement
  • Resume
  • Graduate financial documents – Certification of Funds form and current original bank or scholarship letter

Conditionally admitted students applying to an ESL program:
Students offered conditional admission at Rutgers-Camden and who wish to enroll in one of our approved English language programs must apply and enroll at their own cost (or their sponsor’s).  Students must present a copy of the conditional admission letter to the English language program. The initial I-20 will be generated by the English language program.  Once you have successfully completed the program, a transcript of ESL courses and a letter of recommendation from the program should be sent to the following address:
